The Oregon Ducks are 12-1 straight up and 8-4-1 against the spread over their last 13 games. Playing in their first Final Four since 1939, the Ducks will try to earn an upset over the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Oregon is a 5-point underdog in Glendale at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last 13 games played on a Saturday, the Ducks are 10-3 ATS.

After gutting out close wins against Rhode Island and Michigan in the closing minutes of those matchups, many saw the best-case scenario for No. 3 Oregon last Saturday as another nail-biter against the No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks.

Instead, the Ducks ran Kansas out of the gym as 6.5-point underdogs, outscoring the Jayhawks 44-33 in the first half en route to a 74-60 victory. Oregon will once again be considered a clear underdog this Saturday, and staying under the radar could work to the Ducks’ advantage.

The Ducks have flourished in the role of underdog in recent seasons. In Oregon’s last 17 games as a betting underdog, the team is 10-7 SU and 12-4-1 ATS, per the OddsShark College Basketball Database.

Trend: Oregon is 8-4-1 ATS in its last 13 games.

Trend: The OVER is 8-3 in Oregon’s last 11 games.

North Carolina Tar Heels

Despite a slow start due to long dry spells from both teams, last Sunday’s North Carolina vs. Kentucky game proved to be the exciting one for which fans were hoping.

The Tar Heels trailed by five with under six minutes to go, but surged into the lead with a 12-0 run, reminiscent of their dominant run to close out Arkansas in the second round. After giving up that lead with 10 seconds to go, North Carolina got a game winner from Luke Maye with 0.3 seconds left on the clock.

North Carolina now turns its attention to Oregon — the OVER is 8-3 in Oregon’s last 11 games. Saturday’s total is set at 152 points.

North Carolina clearly has more next-level talent than Oregon does, and the program has a much richer history in college basketball. But this was true of Kansas too, and the Ducks didn’t back down from that challenge. Coach Dana Altman has been getting the most out of this Oregon team all season, and the 33-5 SU and 22-14-1 ATS Ducks could give North Carolina a run for its money.
