The home team is 5-0 straight up and 4-1 against the spread in this series between the Washington Wizards and the Atlanta Hawks. The Wizards will try to be the first team to win on the road and close out the series this Friday night in Game 6.

Washington is a 3-point road underdog in Atlanta at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In the team’s last two games in Atlanta, the Wizards were 2.5-point underdogs and lost both games by double digits.

Game 5 was the closest game of the series on Wednesday night, with Atlanta trailing by only one point at the end of the first half and being within four points at the end of every quarter.

But while the Wizards were never able to pull away, they were able to match blows with the Hawks throughout the game to take a 3-2 series lead.

Washington turned in its best defensive effort of the series, holding Atlanta to under 100 points for the first time in the last six games between the two teams in the 103-99 victory.

The Wizards are 9-5 SU and 11-3 ATS over their last 14 postseason road games per the OddsShark NBA Database. Washington has lost its last four playoff road games however, all against Atlanta.

Betting Line / Total: Atlanta -3 / 210 Points

Trend: The home team is 4-1 ATS in the first five games of this series.

Trend: The UNDER is 14-4-1 in the Hawks’ last 19 home playoff games.

Atlanta Hawks

In a series that has been dominated by the home team, Atlanta came the closest to a road upset with a respectable performance and an ATS win as 6-point underdogs in Game 5. There are no style points awarded in the postseason however, and the Hawks now find themselves in a must-win game at home in Game 6.

Atlanta is 4-0 SU and ATS in its last four games as a postseason home favorite and is averaging 112.3 points per game in its last three games as one.

Friday night’s total is set at 210 points. The UNDER is 14-4-1 in the Hawks’ last 19 playoff home games.

Atlanta won its first two home games in this series by double digits, but all of the pressure is now turned on the Hawks as they fight for their playoff lives. If Washington hopes to close out the series on the road, it will need to come up with an answer for Dennis Schroder, who has torched the Wizards for 24.4 points per game in this series.
