Dustin Johnson has finished in third place or better in each of his last five tournament appearances. Johnson will look to stay hot this weekend at TPC Sawgrass in the Players Championship.
Players Championship odds 2017: Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy lead betting lines
Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy lead the pack of favorites at the sportsbooks to win THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass.

The current FedExCup points leader is a +700 betting favorite on the odds to win the Players Championship this week at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Riding high off three straight wins in the Genesis Open, WGC Mexico Championship, and WGC Dell Technologies Match Play tournament, Dustin Johnson was a heavy favorite heading into the Masters. A freak back injury kept him out of that tournament, but he returned to action last weekend in the Wells Fargo Championship and looked sharp in a tied-for-second finish.
The biggest beneficiary of Johnson’s absence at the Masters was Sergio Garcia (+1800 to win Players Championship), who edged out Justin Rose (+2500) in a playoff to win the event. The win gave Garcia the first major win of his career and was just the third tournament win he’s had in the last nine seasons.
Garcia will try to carry the momentum into another big performance this weekend.
Jordan Spieth (+1400) was in the running at the Masters, but a 5-over-par day on Sunday left him with an 11th place finish. Spieth bounced back with a strong showing in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, finishing in fourth place with a 22-under-par tournament. The 23-year-old had a top-five finish at the Players Championship in 2014, but has missed the cut in each of his last two appearances here.
Rory McIlroy, at +1000 on the golf betting lines for this week, has played in only five tournaments this season and finished in the Top 10 of four of them. After an up-and-down 2016 season, McIlroy has been more consistent this year, but hasn’t been able to find his winning touch.
Other potential contenders in the Players Championship include Hideki Matsuyama (+2000), Jon Rahm (+2000), Rickie Fowler (+2000), Jason Day (+2200), Justin Thomas (+2800), Brooks Koepka (+3300), and Henrik Stenson (+3300).
Day is the defending champion in this event, but has struggled badly this season with only one Top-10 finish in nine tournaments.
