Three of the last five Kentucky Derby winners have gone on to win the Preakness Stakes as well. Always Dreaming will look to do the same and add the second jewel of the Triple Crown with a win this Saturday afternoon.

The Kentucky Derby winner is a -125 favorite to win the Preakness at Pimlico at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

With the win at Churchill Downs earlier this month, Always Dreaming picked up his fourth straight victory. The horse looked great in the Kentucky Derby, taking over the lead with about a half of a mile left in the race and eventually pulling away from the pack down the stretch. Always Dreaming is clearly the one to beat in this short field.

Classic Empire (+300 to win the Preakness) was the betting favorite to win the Kentucky Derby in the weeks leading up to the event. The horse was doomed by a poor break out of the gate in the Derby, falling too far behind the pack to have much of a chance at coming from behind.

Classic Empire finished with a solid fourth-place showing given the circumstances, but this smaller field and faster track should lead to a better result in Baltimore.

While Classic Empire was the horse that was expected to make a late kick at the Kentucky Derby, it actually ended up being Lookin At Lee that looked the best down the stretch.

Going off at +3300 to win the Kentucky Derby, Lookin At Lee was clearly the best of the rest on Derby Day, using a strong late kick to pull away into second place while not quite being able to catch Always Dreaming. Lookin At Lee is the third favorite to win the Preakness at +1000.

Rounding out the field on the odds to win the Preakness Stakes are Cloud Computing (+1400), Gunnevera (+1600), Conquest Mo Money (+1800), Hence (+2000), Term of Art (+3300), Senior Investment (+3300) and Multiplier (+4000).

If no one else is willing to challenge him for the lead early, Cloud Computing has the speed to potentially go wire to wire, and he enters this race fresh after not having raced in the Kentucky Derby.
