The Ottawa Senators have never won a Game 7 in their franchise history, going 0-5 in their previous five attempts. This year’s group will try to snap that losing streak with a road upset over the Pittsburgh Penguins this Thursday night.
Senators vs. Penguins Game 7 odds: Pittsburgh betting favorite hosting Ottawa
The Ottawa Senators will be seeking the first Game 7 win in franchise history with an upset over the Pittsburgh Penguins in the deciding game of the Eastern Conference Final.

Ottawa is a +170 underdog in Pittsburgh at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Penguins, who are 9-7 all-time in Game 7, will look to move onto the Stanley Cup Final as -200 favorites.
Ottawa Senators
By most measures, the Senators were totally dominated in Game 6 at home, getting outshot 46 to 30 and winning just 41.5 percent of their faceoffs. But the only stat that matters in the postseason is the final score, and Ottawa found a way to extend this series with a 2-1 victory.
The Senators snapped an 0-of-29 scoreless drought on the power play with a 5-on-3 goal to tie the game in the second period and got a brilliant performance from Craig Anderson, who made 45 saves, including 22 of 23 Pittsburgh shots in the second period.
The Senators are 5-4 straight up on the road this postseason per the OddsShark NHL Database, including series-clinching wins in both Boston and New York.
Betting Line / Total: Pittsburgh -200 / 5 Goals
Pittsburgh Penguins
Pittsburgh would have obviously loved to close out the series and avoid this elimination game with a win in Game 6, but the Penguins aren’t likely to be discouraged after playing such a strong game.
After averaging 27.7 shots per game in the first three games of this series, Pittsburgh has made adjustments on offense and peppered the Senators with 39 shots per game over the last three games. Another effort like they’ve had in the last three games should be enough to send the Penguins back to the finals for the second straight season.
Thursday night’s total is set at five goals. The UNDER is 4-2-1 in Pittsburgh’s last seven games.
Anderson’s performance in Game 6 was a good reminder of what makes Game 7 so scary for even heavy favorites. Pittsburgh may be the better team on paper, but the Senators have held the Penguins to only one goal four times through the first six games in this series and could pull off another big upset if they are able to do it one more time.
