The Nashville Predators are 7-1 at home this postseason. The Predators will need another strong performance at home this Saturday night to defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Nashville is a -135 home favorite for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Pittsburgh will try to take a commanding 3-0 series lead as a +115 underdog.

Nashville Predators

The Predators have outshot the Penguins 64 to 39 through the first two games of the series, but the team followed up a 5-3 loss in Game 1 with a 4-1 loss in Game 2.

Pekka Rinne made 16 saves on 17 shots in the first two periods of Game 2 before being pulled after allowing three goals in the first three minutes and 28 seconds of the third period. The losses can’t land squarely on the star goaltender’s shoulders, but he will need to elevate his game for Nashville to get back into this series.

Since 2001, the Predators are 6-4 in 10 home games against the Penguins, per the OddsShark NHL Database. However, Nashville is just 1-4 against Pittsburgh in the last five home games over that stretch.

Betting Line / Total: Nashville -135 / 5.5 Goals

Pittsburgh Penguins

Matt Murray was fantastic under siege in Game 2, stopping 37 of the 38 shots he faced, including 31 saves on 32 shots in the first two periods to keep Pittsburgh in the game.

On a team loaded with veteran talent on offense, a 22-year-old rookie has led the way in scoring. With two more goals in Game 2, Jake Guentzel improved his playoff-leading goal total to 12, three goals ahead of teammate Evgeni Malkin in second. Pittsburgh is 7-4 over its last 11 playoff road games.

Saturday night’s total is set at 5.5 goals at the sportsbooks. The UNDER is 7-1-3 in Nashville’s last 11 games at home.

Throughout NHL history, the 50 teams that have taken a 2-0 series lead in the Stanley Cup Final have gone on to win the series 45 times. Four of the five teams that came back from an 0-2 series hole won Game 3. To keep their slim hopes of winning this series alive, the Predators must win Game 3 at home.
