The Washington Nationals are rounding into playoff form with a 12-4 record over their last 16 games. The Nationals will look to remain hot in a three-game series against the slumping Milwaukee Brewers starting this Tuesday night.

Washington Nationals
The Nationals wrapped up a successful nine-game road trip with a win in Arizona on Sunday, taking two of three from the Diamondbacks to finish up 7-2. The team has been better on the road this season with a 33-19 record than it’s been at home with a 26-19 record thus far, but it’ll have a chance to improve on that home record with 15 of its next 21 games coming in Washington.
Jackson was strong in a spot start for the Nationals last week, allowing only three hits and two earned runs in seven innings against the Los Angeles Angels.
This will be the first series between these two teams in 2017. Washington went 2-4 against the Brewers in 2016, per the OddsShark MLB Database.
Betting Line / Total: Washington -131 / 10 Runs
Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers came out of the All-Star break with a 5 1/2 game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central and were looking like a potential dark horse World Series contender. Now that division lead is down to just a half game as Milwaukee has gone 1-7 over its last eight games, and the Cubs have been heating up.
With Colorado and Arizona leading the way in the wild card standings, the division race between Chicago and Milwaukee will be an important one for these two teams down the stretch.
Tuesday night’s total is set at 10 runs. The UNDER is 8-1 over Milwaukee’s last nine games.
Milwaukee should be playing this series with more desperation, but that desperation may not be able to bridge the skill gap between these two clubs. The series continues Wednesday with a matchup between Gio Gonzalez and Jimmy Nelson and wraps up on Thursday night with Max Scherzer facing off against Matt Garza.
