Premier League odds, Week 2: Manchester United looks to build on its strong start

Manchester United visits Swansea City looking to follow up its strong win at home with a road victory as a clear favorite on the Week 2 Premier League betting lines.

Manchester United soared to the top of the English Premier League table last week with a dominant 4-0 win over West Ham United. The club will try to put together another dominant performance this Saturday on the road against Swansea City.

Manchester United is a -310 favorite to win in Swansea on the Premier League betting lines at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Romelu Lukaku was brilliant in his Manchester United debut, collecting five shots and two goals en route to the blowout win.

Swansea City (+950 to win, +390 to draw) played Southampton to a scoreless draw last week, but keeping Lukaku and Manchester United off the board figures to be a much more difficult task.

Burnley entered last week’s game against Chelsea as a +1300 underdog to win the game outright, but the club took advantage of an early straight red card dealt to Gary Cahill to jump out to a 3-0 first half lead. Chelsea got two back despite playing shorthanded, but Burnley held on for what will likely be one of the biggest upsets of the season.

Burnley is a +150 favorite when it returns home to a celebratory crowd on Saturday to host West Bromwich Albion (+200), with draw odds going off at +205.

Chelsea had opened as a pick’em in this Sunday’s road game against Tottenham Hotspur, but is now down to a +265 underdog following last week’s ugly defeat. In addition to being out of form, Chelsea also will be without two of its top players on Sunday as both Cahill and Cesc Fabregas were thrown out of the match against Burnley.

Tottenham (+100 to win, +245 to play to a draw) picked up a 2-0 road win over Newcastle last Sunday and now has a golden opportunity to get three points against a vulnerable Chelsea side.

The week’s action wraps up with EPL title betting favorites Manchester City (-355) hosting Everton (+950) with the draw paying +450. Both clubs earned clean sheet victories last weekend. Despite losing Romelu Lukaku, Everton spent big money this offseason to bolster its roster in hopes of bridging the gap between itself and the English Premier League’s elites. Everton will get a crack at one of those elite clubs on Monday.
