Conor McGregor is 21-3 over the course of his professional MMA career with 18 knockouts. Thanks to a decision from the Nevada State Athletic Commission, McGregor’s odds of knocking out Mayweather in their Saturday bout may have received a significant boost.
Mayweather vs. McGregor 2017 prop bets: Sportsbooks set odds with fight on Saturday
Action is coming in on prop bets at the sportsbooks in the final week of wagering before the Mayweather vs. McGregor super fight takes place in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Both boxers appealed to have this fight with eight-ounce gloves instead of 10-ounce gloves, which is the standard at the weight at which they are meeting. The NSAC approved this appeal. As a result, McGregor, who is used to fighting with four-ounce gloves in the UFC, received an advantage as lighter gloves will provide more speed and power to his strikes.
The boxing world has taken notice. At the beginning of August, McGregor was going off at +400 to pull off an upset over Mayweather and +500 to win the fight by KO, TKO, or DQ. Those odds are down to McGregor at +300 to win the fight at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com, and +325 to win by KO, TKO, or DQ.
While smaller gloves undoubtedly favor McGregor, they may not be as big of a hindrance to Mayweather as some believe. The 49-0 mega star has fought the majority of his professional bouts with eight-ounce gloves and has brilliantly defended against plenty of heavy hitters before.
Mayweather backers that were waiting for the right time to pounce may be enticed by the price of -400 on one of the best boxers of all-time against an unproven opponent like McGregor. Mayweather would pay -125 to win by KO, TKO or DQ and +250 to win by decision on the Mayweather vs. McGregor betting props.
Despite the change to smaller gloves, the line on the fight lasting roughly eight rounds has remained the same, with the OVER 8 going off as a slight underdog at -115 to the UNDER 8 at -125.
McGregor has declared that Mayweather won’t last two rounds with him with the fight now being in eight-ounce gloves. Those that are as bullish as the MMA star can bet the fight to go UNDER 2 rounds for a healthy payout of +575. A first round knockout for either competitor would pay +1000 on an UNDER 1 round bet.
The fight is a +200 underdog to go the distance, with the “No” on that prop paying at -275.
