Rory McIlroy is a two-time winner of the PGA Championship, winning this major event in both 2012 and 2014. McIlroy is the favorite to emerge victorious again this weekend at Quail Hollow.
PGA Championship 2017 odds: Betting favorite McIlroy seeks third victory at event
Rory McIlroy will attempt to win his third PGA Championship this weekend in Charlotte, and he leads Jordan Spieth and Hideki Matsuyama on the odds at the sportsbooks.

The four-time major winner is a +700 favorite to win the PGA Championship at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. McIlroy has been heating up of late with back-to-back Top 5 finishes in the WGC Bridgestone Invitational and the British Open.
Last season, McIlroy went all year without a win before closing out the season strong with two tournament wins in September. He will try to open another strong PGA Tour finish with a win this week.
While McIlroy is still chasing his first win of the 2017 season, four golfers have already earned three wins this year. They are Jordan Spieth (+800 to win the PGA Championship), Hideki Matsuyama (+1100), Dustin Johnson (+1200) and Justin Thomas (+4000)
Spieth followed up a win at the Travelers Championship with another at The Open Championship, locking up the third major title of his career and his first since 2015. The 24-year-old shot 12 under par at the Open, comfortably outpacing the field and winning the major by three strokes.
With the weight of a few disappointing major performances off his shoulders, Spieth should be right in the hunt for this one.
Spieth’s win at the British Open catapulted him into first place in the FedExCup standings, but his stay atop the leaderboard was a short one. Hideki Matsuyama, who already had a runner-up finish at the US Open and two tournament wins on the season on his resume, took over the top spot in the rankings with a win at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational.
Matsuyama has been a hit-or-miss player all season with six finishes in the Top 2 and eight finishes outside of the Top 20.
Other potential contenders to win the PGA Championship include Rickie Fowler (+1600) Jon Rahm (+2500), Brooks Koepka (+2500), Jason Day (+2800), Justin Rose (+4000), Adam Scott (+4000), Henrik Stenson (+4000), and Sergio Garcia (+4000).
Day picked up the first major win of his career in this event back in 2015. Garcia and Koepka both earned their first major wins this year.
