Green Bay Packers

The Packers have had their share of slow starts in recent years, and this season doesn’t appear to be any different. Green Bay held on in an ugly 17-9 win over Seattle in its home opener, lost a 34-23 shootout to Atlanta in Week 2, and then needed a fourth-quarter comeback and overtime to fend off lowly Cincinnati, 27-24, last Sunday.

The team has a tough road trip coming up with Dallas and Minnesota on the schedule next, but they can’t afford to look past this week.

Getting up for this game might be tough for Green Bay given how much the team has dominated the Bears in recent years. The Packers are 12-2 SU and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games against Chicago per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Chicago Bears

The Bears pulled off a surprising upset over the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime as 6.5-point home underdogs on Sunday. The win broke a six-game losing streak for the Bears, and brought the team’s ATS record to 7-3 ATS over its last 10 games. Jordan Howard rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns in the win despite dealing with a sore shoulder.

Chicago is just 1-9 SU and 2-8 ATS in its last 10 games played in the month of September.

Thursday night’s total is set at 45.5 points. The OVER is 9-1 in Green Bay’s last 10 games.

Chicago is 0-6 SU in its last six games coming off a win. The Bears appear to be moving in the right direction with an impressive showing in their season opener against Atlanta and last week’s win over Pittsburgh, but they’ll see just how much they’ve improved with this difficult road test against their hated rivals.
