Titans at Patriots OddsShark Matchup Report

New England Patriots

The Patriots earned the top seed in the AFC with a 13-3 SU and 11-5 ATS record. Cries of New England’s demise after a 2-2 SU and 1-3 ATS start should have been quieted by an 11-1 SU and 10-2 ATS record to end the season, but a recent ESPN report has called into question the stability of the relationships between quarterback Tom Brady, head coach Bill Belichick, and owner Robert Kraft.

All three deny that there is any turmoil in New England, and historically the response to negative press around the Patriots off the field has been strong performances on it.

Since 1997, the Patriots are 19-3 SU and 13-8-1 ATS in 22 postseason home games per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans limped into the playoffs with a 1-3 SU record over their last four games and looked poised for an early exit in the wild card round after going down 21-3 in the first half on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Instead, Marcus Mariota and Derrick Henry led Tennessee to score 19 unanswered points en route to a stunning 22-21 victory. Tennessee is just 7-20-1 ATS in its last 28 games coming off a win, and it’s at the bottom of the updated Super Bowl 52 odds.

Saturday’s total is set at 47 points. The OVER is 6-1 in Tennessee’s last seven trips into New England.

With last Saturday’s gutsy performance against Kansas City, the Titans earned their first playoff win since 2004 and in some years might be entering the Divisional round with some momentum as a potential Cinderella team. But unfortunately for this group, they’ll be taking on the NFL’s most well oiled machine on Saturday, and midnight is steadily approaching on this Cinderella.
