Golden State Warriors
The Warriors were doing just fine while Steph Curry was out with his ankle injury going 9-2 SU and 4-7 ATS over those 11 games. Curry’s return to action however has served as a stiff reminder to the rest of the NBA just how untouchable this Warriors team is when it is healthy. The star guard has averaged 35.2 points per game over the first five games since his return while the team has averaged 126.4 points per game over that stretch.
Steph Curry’s highest scoring game since his return came against these Clippers when he dropped 45 points on them in last Saturday’s 121-105 road victory. Golden State is 12-0 SU and 8-4 ATS in its last 12 games against Los Angeles per the OddsShark NBA Database.
Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers enjoyed a nice ATS stretch in the month of December in which they went 9-4 SU and 11-2 ATS over a 13-game run. Since then, the Clippers are 0-3 ATS and 1-2 SU after suffering back-to-back home losses to Oklahoma City and Golden State.
Los Angeles will be without its best player in Blake Griffin on Wednesday night as the power forward recovers from concussion-like symptoms. The Clippers are currently on the outside looking in for a playoff spot with an 18-21 SU and 20-19 ATS record on the season.
Wednesday night’s total is set at 227.5 points. Each of Golden State’s last five games have gone OVER the posted total.
Even at full strength the Clippers haven’t proven to be much of a challenge for Golden State in recent years. With Griffin sidelined, Los Angeles is going to have an extremely tough time breaking its streak of seven straight double-digit losses to the Warriors.
