It appeared as though the Rangers had snapped out of their 3-7 slump when they strung together back-to-back wins at home against Philadelphia and Buffalo last week. But that progress was quickly halted with back-to-back road losses to the Colorado Avalanche and Los Angeles Kings over the weekend.
After a night off to regroup, the Rangers will play their fourth game in six nights on Tuesday, looking to snap a four-game road losing streak. New York is one of four teams separated by one point and fighting for the two wild card spots in the Eastern Conference.
The Rangers are 0-5 in their last five games as an underdog after going 6-3 in their previous nine games as one, per the OddsShark NHL Database.
Anaheim Ducks
Anaheim is currently on the outside looking in for a playoff spot but should be in the mix with Los Angeles and Calgary for one of the top three spots in the Pacific Division.
The Ducks have been plagued by a lack of scoring all season long, ranking 25th in the NHL in goals scored with 2.7 per game and 24th in power play percentage with a 17.1 percent success rate. Corey Perry’s return after missing 11 games with a knee injury should help, but the veteran had only 19 goals last year and has seven goals in 37 games this year after scoring at least 33 goals in his previous three seasons.
Tuesday’s total is set at 5.5 goals at sports betting sites. The OVER is 5-1 in New York’s last six games.
