It took some help from the Cincinnati Bengals upsetting the Baltimore Ravens in Week 17, but after 17 straight seasons of missing the playoffs, the Bills are finally back on the big stage.
Buffalo went 3-1 SU and ATS down the stretch to finish the season with a 9-7 SU and 8-6-2 ATS record, good for the sixth seed in the AFC. The Bills enter the postseason with the lowest offensive output in 2017 among any of the teams to advance to the playoffs ranking 22nd in the league in scoring with 18.9 points per game and 29th in total offense with 302.6 yards per game.
Buffalo’s last road win in the month of January came on January 2, 1994. The Bills are 0-8 SU and ATS on the road in January since then per the OddsShark NFL Database.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars broke out of some droughts of their own this season, putting together their first winning record at 10-6 SU and 9-7 ATS and advancing to the postseason for the first time since 2007 and winning their first division title since 1999. But despite having only one more win than Buffalo in 2017, this Jaguars team looks the part of a substantial favorite, ranking sixth in the league in total offense averaging 365.9 points per game and second in total defense allowing only 286.1 yards per game. Jacksonville was a perfect 3-0 SU and ATS in three games as a favorite of seven points or more this season.
Sunday’s total is set at 39.5 points. The OVER is 5-0 in the last five games between Buffalo and Jacksonville.
Ranking in the bottom eight of the league in both total offense and total defense, the Bills would have to consider themselves lucky to have made the postseason this year. They’ll need that luck to carry over into the playoffs to have a shot at an upset in Jacksonville.
