Rockets at Timberwolves OddsShark Matchup Report

Houston Rockets

Averaging 114.1 points per game on offense, the Rockets may be the one team capable of hanging with Golden State in a shootout this postseason. Houston averages 1.5 points per game less than the Warriors but defensively allows 2.4 points per game fewer than the defending champions.

James Harden is enjoying the best offensive production of his career this season, averaging 31.3 points per games and 8.9 assists per game. With Golden State and Houston separated in the standings by just one game, every game down the stretch will be critical in determining home-court advantage.

The Rockets are 3-0 SU and ATS in their last three games as a favorite of five points or less, per the OddsShark NBA Database.

Minnesota Timberwolves

The last time Minnesota had a winning record came back in 2004-05 when Kevin Garnett was still on the team. With a 35-24 SU and 28-29-2 ATS record this season, that streak of futility is set to come to an end.

Jimmy Butler has been an excellent fit for the Timberwolves with a team-leading 22.5 points per game, taking some of the scoring pressure off Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns. The Timberwolves are currently trying to break out of a 4-6 SU and ATS mini-slump over their last 10 games.

Tuesday’s total is set at 222.5 points. The OVER is 4-0 in Minnesota’s last four games and 3-1 in Houston’s last four.

The Timberwolves currently sit in fourth place in the Western Conference behind the conference’s “Big 3” of Golden State, Houston and San Antonio. Games like this one against one of the NBA’s top teams should serve as a great litmus test for this young group.
