Duke Blue Devils
The Blue Devils started the month of February with back-to-back losses, falling to 1-3 SU and ATS over that four-game stretch and 19-5 SU and 13-10 ATS on the season. But since their 82-78 loss to UNC, the team has looked much sharper on the defensive side of the court, allowing only 59.3 points per game over its current 3-0 SU and ATS run.
Duke has the second most potent offense in the nation, averaging 87.4 points per game, so an improved output on defense down the stretch would make the Blue Devils a major contender this March.
In their last 11 games as a betting favorite of 10 points or more, the Blue Devils are 8-3 SU and 6-5 ATS per the OddsShark College Basketball Database.
Louisville Cardinals
Going off as a 1-point home underdog against North Carolina on Saturday, the Cardinals got blown away in a 93-76 loss to the Tar Heels. With the loss, Louisville fell to 2-4 SU and 2-3-1 ATS in its last six games since opening the season 16-5 SU and 11-8 ATS. The Cardinals are winless in their last nine games as a double-digit underdog while going 4-4-1 ATS over that stretch.
Wednesday night’s total is set at 159 points. The OVER is 8-2 in Louisville’s last 10 games with a posted total.
These two teams are going in opposite directions. Duke looks to be rounding into top form with March quickly approaching, while Louisville seems to be struggling with the grueling schedule of the ACC. After suffering through Saturday’s 27-point shellacking at home against the Tar Heels, the Cardinals will need to turn things around in a hurry to avoid another blowout loss in Durham.
