Knights at Penguins OddsShark Matchup Report

Vegas Golden Knights

Coming into the league with very little star power after the expansion draft last offseason, sportsbooks gave the Knights projected season totals of 68 points and 30.5 wins.

With 30 games still remaining on its schedule, Vegas has already comfortably hit the OVER for their backers on both of those bets, coming into Tuesday night’s game with 35 wins and 74 points.

Former Penguins starting goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury is leading the way in net for the Golden Knights with a dazzling 1.84 goals-against average and .939 save percentage through his first 21 starts in Vegas.

Vegas is 35-17 on the moneyline this year. This includes a 14-5 record in the Golden Knights’ last 19 games as a betting underdog.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Pittsburgh will be trying to avoid losing back-to-back games for the first time since December. With a 9-3 record over their last 12 games, the Penguins have moved into third place in the Metropolitan Division and are just four points behind first-place Washington for the top spot.

The offense getting on a roll has been a big part of the Penguins’ success of late as the team is averaging four goals per game over its last 12. The Penguins are 19-8 on the moneyline in 27 home games this season.

Tuesday night’s total is set at six goals. The OVER is 6-2 in Vegas’s last eight games per the OddsShark NHL Database.

Vegas beat Pittsburgh, 2-1, when these teams met back in December in Las Vegas. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 24 of the 25 shots he faced against his old teammates in that victory and will have an emotional return to the PPG Paints Arena.
