The New England Patriots have earned a first-round bye and won at least 12 games in each of their last eight seasons. That consistency at the top of the NFL makes the Patriots enter every season as one of the teams to beat.
Super Bowl 53 odds: Patriots back at top of NFL betting futures for the 2018 season
The New England Patriots sit ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles on the odds to win Super Bowl 53 at the sportsbooks as the NFL enters its offseason.

New England is going off as the +500 favorite on the odds to win the Super Bowl 53 at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
The Patriots will be breaking in a new defensive coordinator in 2018 and will need to shore up a defense that was torched for 538 yards and 41 points in the Super Bowl. But with head coach Bill Belichick, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, and quarterback Tom Brady all set to return, the Patriots should once again breeze through the regular season with one of the game’s best offenses and be a factor in the postseason.
Of course, the defending Super Bowl champions deserve a strong look at +700 to defend their title in 2018. The Eagles managed to win the Super Bowl without their starting quarterback Carson Wentz, making the prospect of this team at full strength next season even more intimidating.
With the Dallas Cowboys (+2000 to win Super Bowl 53), New York Giants (+5500) and Washington Redskins (+7000) all a clear step behind the Eagles at this point, Philadelphia’s path back into the postseason is a clear one.
Major contenders on the Super Bowl 53 odds outside of the two teams that advanced to the Super Bowl this year include the Green Bay Packers (+800), Pittsburgh Steelers (+1000), and Minnesota Vikings (+1200).
Green Bay was 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS in 2017 before Aaron Rodgers went down with a collarbone injury. His return should put the Packers in the mix for a tough battle for the NFC North title with the Vikings, who went 14-4 SU and 11-7 ATS last year.
The Los Angeles Rams (+1750) and Jacksonville Jaguars (+2000) both took major strides in 2017 and look poised to do some damage as value picks in 2018. Another potential value pick could be the San Francisco 49ers (+1800), who finished the season off on a 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS run when they turned the starting quarterback role over to Jimmy Garoppolo.
Other potential Super Bowl 53 contenders include the Houston Texans (+1850), New Orleans Saints (+1850), Atlanta Falcons (+2000), Oakland Raiders (+2100), Carolina Panthers (+2500), and Seattle Seahawks (+2500).
