The last two No. 1 seeds remaining in the NCAA tournament will try to advance to the Elite Eight as betting favorites at the sportsbooks Friday night.


Kansas is a 4.5-point betting favorite over the Tigers at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The week off after the Round of 32 was great for the Jayhawks, who are trying to nurse their 7-foot sophomore center Udoka Azubuike back to good health. Azubuike had 10 points in 22 minutes of play coming off a knee injury in Kansas’ 83-79 win over Seton Hall.
The Jayhawks are 7-0 SU in their last seven games against ACC teams while Clemson is 0-4 SU and ATS in its last four games against Big 12 opponents.
No. 1 Villanova is 7-0 SU over its last seven games and 5-1 ATS over its last six, cruising through the tournament so far with an 87-61 win over Radford and an 81-58 win over Alabama. The Wildcats are 5.5-point favorites facing West Virginia Friday.
The No. 5 Mountaineers have also been on fire through the first two rounds with an 85-68 win over Murray State and a 94-71 win over Marshall. Historically, Villanova has dominated in Friday games with a 19-0 SU record in its last 19 games played on a Friday.
Despite the fact there are still two No. 1 seeds remaining in the tournament, the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils are the current favorite on the odds to win the national championship at +325. Duke is 9-2 SU and ATS in its last 11 games and is going off as an 11.5-point favorite on Friday against the No. 11 Syracuse Orange. Syracuse has pulled off three straight upsets to get to this point including a 55-53 win as 10-point underdogs over Michigan State on Sunday.
The Sweet 16 wraps up with what figures to be a highly competitive game between the No. 2 Purdue Boilermakers (-1.5) and the No. 3 Texas Tech Red Raiders. Texas Tech is 8-2 SU and 7-2-1 ATS in its last 10 games against Big Ten opponents per the OddsShark College Basketball Database.
