Miami Heat
The Heat didn’t do their spot in the Eastern Conference standings any favors with a 1-8 SU slump that extended through most of the month of February. Miami has turned things around of late however with a 4-2 SU and 3-1-2 ATS record over its last six games.
Dwyane Wade has provided a nice spark off the bench in his 10 games since returning to his old team averaging 14 points per game. The Heat enter Thursday’s action in the eighth seed in the East.
Despite their recent SU slump, the Heat have been a consistent money-maker over the last two months. Miami is 16-7-3 ATS over its last 26 games including a current stretch of 7-1-2 ATS per the OddsShark NBA Database.
Philadelphia 76ers
The 76ers have been on a consistent tear over the last month with a 10-3 SU and 8-4-1 ATS record over their last 13 games. Road struggles have prevented Philadelphia from climbing into the top half of the Eastern Conference standings this season, but recent road wins of 108-97 in Cleveland and 128-114 in Charlotte are clear steps in the right direction.
On the year, Philadelphia now sits at 35-28 SU and 35-26-2 ATS and is in the sixth seed.
Thursday’s total is set at 207.5 points. The OVER is 10-3 over Miami’s last 13 games.
The Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics have created some good separation in the standings from the rest of the Eastern Conference and look to have the top two spots locked down barring any big collapses down the stretch. Only four wins separate third place from eighth place in the standings however, setting the stage for an interesting battle for positioning over the last month of the regular season.
Philadelphia and Miami are both playing well and have plenty of ground to gain from a win on Thursday.
