Golden State Warriors
Caught in a tight race for the top spot in the Western Conference with the Houston Rockets, the Warriors have turned up the heat on offense over the last month. Golden State is averaging 119.7 points per game over its last 10 games, winning those games by an average margin of victory of 15.4 points per game
With the Rockets and Warriors not meeting again in the regular season, this race to the finish will simply boil down to which team is able to avoid any slip-ups down the stretch.
Including last year’s sweep in the postseason, the Warriors are 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against San Antonio per the OddsShark NBA Database.
San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio avoided disaster after LaMarcus Aldridge left last Wednesday’s game with an ankle injury. Aldridge was able to return after missing just one game, but he didn’t look like himself on a night that he scored just seven points.
The Spurs seem to be getting close to full health in time for the playoffs, but will be far from it on Thursday with Aldridge recovering from his sore ankle and Pau Gasol and Kawhi Leonard both out with injuries. San Antonio is 2-6 SU and 3-5 ATS over its last eight games.
Thursday’s total is set at 218 points. The OVER is 8-2 in San Antonio’s last 10 games.
If the Spurs are able to get Aldridge, Leonard and Gasol all healthy and game-ready before the postseason, San Antonio could be a dark horse threat to the two top dogs in the Western Conference. But this Thursday night on the road with a battered up team isn’t likely to be the spot that the Spurs snap their losing streak against the Warriors.
