With over $39 million in live career tournament earnings, Daniel Negreanu tops the all-time poker money list leaderboard. This summer, Negreanu will try to add an elusive WSOP Main Event title to his hall of fame poker resume.
World Series of Poker odds 2018: Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey lead Main Event betting lines
Negreanu and Ivey are the two betting favorites heading into the 2018 WSOP Main Event, with the sportsbooks also offering up prop wagers for the tournament.

Negreanu is going off at +5000 as a co-favorite on the odds to win the 2018 WSOP Main Event at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Even the best tournament players in the world are massive underdogs in the huge fields that the WSOP Main Event draws. The Canadian pro had a remarkable run in 2015, finishing just shy of the final table with an 11th place finish in the Main Event.
The co-favorite to win the WSOP Main Event is Phil Ivey (+5000). Ivey ranks seventh on the all-time money list with over $26 million in live tournament earnings and is considered by many to be the best poker player in the world. The 41-year-old is tied for second all-time in World Series of Poker bracelets (awarded to winners of each WSOP event) with 10.
Other potential contenders to win the 2018 WSOP Main Event include Allen Cunningham (+8000), Gus Hansen (+8000), Jason Mercier (+8000), Joe McKeehen (+10000), Tom Dwan (+10000), and Antonio Esfandiari (+10000).
The United States has produced five of the last six WSOP Main Event champions. In a World Series of Poker prop bet that offers the winner’s country of origin, the USA could be a decent value as a -120 favorite over Europe (+275), Canada (+400), or the field at +600.
Another interesting prop bet asks what the age of the winner will be, with both “28 or older” and “27 or younger” going off at -120. Last year’s winner, Scott Blumstein, was 25 years old when he became champion. This seems like an excellent spot to bet on “27 or younger”; since Jerry Yang won this event in 2007, nine of the last 10 WSOP Main Event champions have been 27 or younger.
Poker fans tend to be gamblers and will likely enjoy the “last flop” prop. This lists the final flop of the Main Event containing “two red cards, one black” and “two black cards, one red” at +150 each and “three red, zero black” and “three black, zero red” at +550 each.
