Spain is unbeaten in its last 17 games with a record of 12-5-0 over that stretch. The 2010 World Cup champions will start their knockout round this Sunday when they take on the host country Russia.
World Cup Round of 16 Sunday games odds 2018: Spain, Croatia get nod from sportsbooks
It’s Spain and Croatia set as the betting favorites on the World Cup odds at the sportsbooks for Sunday as the Round of 16 of the tournament continues.

Going off as the biggest favorites on the World Cup odds this weekend, Spain currently sits at -170 to defeat Russia in regulation at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Despite entering the World Cup as one of the top favorites to win the event, Spain was not dominant in the group stage, surrendering a draw to Portugal on gameday one and needing a late goal to secure a point against Morocco on gameday three.
Still, Spain did enough to win Group B, and this possession hogging side is the clear favorite to win this side of the World Cup bracket.

Russia (+525 to win in regulation, +290 to be tied at the end of regulation time) has done well to get to this point. While the host nation was outclassed in its 3-0 loss to Uruguay to close out the action in Group A, it has plenty to be proud of in wins of 5-0 over Saudi Arabia and 3-1 over Egypt.
Overcoming Spain is likely too tall of an order, but the home crowd will certainly be rooting that result on in full force.
The total for Spain vs. Russia is set at 2.5 goals. There have been at least three goals scored in seven of Russia’s last nine matches.
In the later game on Sunday, Croatia is a -120 favorite over Denmark (+400 to win, +225 to force the game into extra time). The total is set at two goals between these two defensively responsible sides.
Croatia was brilliant in Group D play, winning all three of its matches and outscoring its opponents 7-1 over that stretch with an impressive 3-0 win over Argentina. Denmark meanwhile outscored its opponents only 2-1 over its three games and went 1-2-0 to advance into the knockout stage.
Look for Denmark to try to defend its way to victory in this one while Croatia should push the tempo on offense through most of the contest.
