Dustin Johnson has been outstanding this year with eight Top-10 finishes including two wins in his 12 tournament appearances. The leader in the FedExCup standings will try to score the second major tournament victory of his career over the weekend in the British Open.
British Open 2018 odds: Dustin Johnson leads the field on the betting lines for Carnoustie
Dustin Johnson enters this week’s British Open as the favorite to win the event at the sportsbooks, ahead of Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy.

Johnson is a +1200 favorite on the odds to win the British Open at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. After taking an early lead at the U.S. Open with a -4 through the first two rounds, Johnson could not overcome the tumultuous conditions of the course in a disastrous 7-over-par Day 3. Still, Johnson finished third in the tournament and was coming off of a win at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. There is plenty to like about his chances on what will be a much better course this week.
Like Johnson, Justin Rose (+1600 to win the British Open) enters this event with three straight Top-10 finishes and a win in his last three events, with his victory coming in the Fort Worth Invitational. Rose is currently sitting in fourth place in the FedExCup Standings with seven Top-10 finishes and two wins through 12 events played and looks poised to win his first major title since 2013 with a strong showing at the Open Championship.
Rory McIlroy is also going off at +1600 on the British Open odds. McIlroy has had a quiet season so far in 2018, but he does have a win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and a Top-5 finish at the Masters under his belt. The 29-year-old also has an impressive run of results in this event, scoring inside the Top 5 in each of his last three appearances in the British Open including his first major title victory when he won this event in 2014.
Other potential contenders include Rickie Fowler (+1600), Jordan Spieth (+2200), Jon Rahm (+2200), Tommy Fleetwood (+2200), Justin Thomas (+2200), Brooks Koepka (+2200), and Tiger Woods (+2200).
With two major title victories over the last five PGA major tournaments, Koepka could start earning himself more betting attention soon. Woods is a three-time British Open winner, with his last win in this event coming back in 2006.
