Mike Silver joins NFL Network

The award-winning writer will contribute to NFL Network and NFL.com.

NFL Network

NFL Network added to its stable of commentators and contributors in advance of the coming season. Mike Silver, who spent the last six years at Yahoo! Sports, will join NFL Media.

He’ll not only contribute to various programs across NFL Network, but will also write columns for NFL.com. Before his six years at Yahoo!, Silver spent 13 years as a contributor to Sports Illustrated.

“Mike’s skills and experience reporting on the NFL are obviously well established at this point,” said Eric Weinberger, executive producer of NFL Network. “That said, I think there is great deal of untapped potential for Mike on the television side of the business. We’ve seen some of it already in his previous appearances on NFL Network but now that we have him in a full-time capacity, I’m excited to see that part of his skillset grow.”

No specific television role has been named for Silver, but he’s long been appearing as a guest analyst on Total Access, NFL AM, and The Rich Eisen Podcast, among others.
