After spending a large chunk of the early part of the Apertura injured and struggling to come back to his form from last year, Jaguares’ towering target man Jackson Martinez has finally opened his Apertura scoring campaign with a goal to put his team up 2-0 on Pachuca in the 75th minute.
Jaguares de Chiapas 2-0 Pachuca: Jackson Martinez Scores His First Of The Apertura
Danilinho was the architect again, and again his cross came from the right hand side of the penalty area. It was an easy cross for Danilinho and an easy finish for Martinez as Pachuca’s keeper Carlos Velazquez was once again left helpless.
Pachuca started the second half as poorly as they ended the first, but had looked good in the 15 minutes since bringing midfielder Jose Torres off the bench. Still, Jaguares were looking dangerous going forward all match and definitely deserved their second goal.
Shortly after scoring, Martinez was substituted off for fellow striker Carlos Ochoa to a standing ovation from the home crowd.
