Tigres 2-0 Pumas: Brilliant Team Goal Ends Pumas Hopes

Damian Alvarez was the man who ultimately notched the goal for Tigres in the 77th minute, but it was much more a team goal than an individual goal. Charging down the right wing, leading man of the match candidate Lucas Lobos split two defenders and centered the ball to a waiting Alan Pulido. The inexperienced striker had come on as a substitute, but his lack of experience certainly didn’t show as he remained cool and moved the ball along to a wide open and waiting Damian Alvarez. He was completely unmarked as a result of the brilliant quick passing sequence and all he had to do was tap it in, which he did without a problem.

It was the icing on the cake for Tigres, who have been the better side all night. The match is far from over, but Pumas don’t exactly look like scoring. If this result holds, and it should, Tigres will have significantly improved their position in the Liguilla race.
