David Beckham scored the equalizing goal in 33rd minute and Juninho scored the eventual game-winner in the 46th minute as the Los Angeles Galaxy came-from-behind to beat FC Dallas 2-1 and claim the Supporters' Shield.
Atiba Harris had put a scare into the Galaxy — who needed at least a point to overtake Real Salt Lake — by scoring a 22nd minute goal for the early 1-0 lead.
Their prize for finishing with the most points in the regular season? A home-and-home two-game series with the Seattle Sounders, one of the hottest teams in MLS since the World Cup break. They will open the playoffs on Halloween night in front of what is expected to be a sellout crowd at Qwest Field.
The other big prize that was on the line for the Galaxy, Edson Buddle's quest for the Golden Boot, fell short. Buddle did not score and finishes the regular season with 18 goals, one behind the San Jose Earthquakes' Chris Wondolowski.
