What Went Wrong: Cap Space Could Mean Quick Turnaround For Dynamo
What went right: The Dynamo finished the season strong and ended with some confidence. More importantly I think Dominic Kinnear was able to determine what players he wants move forward with in 2011.
What went wrong: What didn’t? Injuries, inconsistent play, a horrible strech of games in the summer. There just simply was not enough consistency in the defense and too many mistakes that led to late goals and lost points.
What we learned: Tall Hall is ready to be the No. 1 goalkeeper and Tyler Deric is more than capable of being a dependable backup.
Where we go from here: Take advantage of the No. 7 draft pick, say goodbye to some old familiar faces and reload for 2011. For the first time since moving to Houston, the team has cap space to make the signing they need/want and they’ve been given the green light to find a big name DP.
Core 11 (players that should be protected): Tally Hall, Andrew Hainault, Colin Clark, Lovel Palmer, Brad Davis, Geoff Cameron, Dominic Oduro, Bobby Boswell, Sammy Appiah, Corey Ashe, Anthony Obodai or Danny Cruz (if he graduates from GA)
