What Went Wrong: Injuries Help Sink Otherwise Promising Season For New England Revolution
What went right: I think they started the process of rebuilding the team with adding new players. It was a combination of exciting young talent and veteran players from Europe.
What went wrong: The lack of continuity between many new faces hurt the Revs. I would also say losing Shalrie Joseph for several games really hurt the team. He really is the center of the Revs that makes the team go.
What we learned: I think we saw the development of many young players. Kevin Alston and Seth Sinovic could be solid players on defense for years to come. Zack Schilawski I think has the potential to be a top flight striker in MLS.
Where we go from here: I honestly think the future looks bright for the Revs. I believe the young players just need more experience to get the Revs back in contention for the title. The nucleus is already there. The Revs probably just need to add a few pieces, and that would probably be in midfield.
Core 11 (players that should be protected): Sainey Nyassi, Kenny Mansally, Marko Perovic, Zack Schilawski, Shalrie Joseph, Pat Phelan, Kevin Alston, Seth Sinovic, Matt Reiss, Darrius Barnes, and Cory Gibbs.
