Carling Cup Fourth Round: Manchester United Need Full Ninety To See Off Wolves
Manchester United once again required the services of their rising star, Mexican international Javier Hernandez, to find the goal and secure the win over Wolverhampton. United elected to replace the entire starting XI that found the away win against Stoke City, but in the end their bench players weren’t sufficient to pull out a win against the plucky Wolves. Little Pea was called into the game with just ten minutes remaining, with his 90-minute goal putting the Red Devils up 3-2 and allowing last year’s winners on to the next round.
The Busby Babe has this to say about United's Carling Cup victory:
Overall, you can't help but be happy to get a win against and arguably better lineup and the opportunity to scout an opponent that's we'll see again in a couple of weeks. You have to be happy that Bebe played particularly well, though disappointed in Mechada. Obertan had flashes of pure talent, but was just too strong with the first touch most of the match. It's a learning experience, that's for sure.
