According to John Sutcliffe of ESPN Deportes and The Associated Press (via The Californian), Monterrey head coach Victor Manuel Vucetich has been offered the job of head coach of the Mexican national team. If your Spanish isn’t up to par, Sutcliffe says that the FA has already spoken to Monterrey about the possibility of Vucetich coaching the national team and that, if all goes well, Vucetich could be officially announced as the new coach as soon as the 18th of October.

So far, Mexican media outlets appear reluctant to run any stories about this, so it could just be wild rumors. Either way, it's certainly interesting. Manchester United and Mexican national team fans have to be licking their chops at what the man who currently coaches Humberto Suazo could do with Javier Hernandez.
↵Vucetich took over as coach of Monterrey in 2009. He’s led them to one league title and currently has them sitting in first place of Group 1 in this year’s Apertura.
