Armenia added a third, insurance goal from midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the 89th minute, defeated Slovakia 3-1 in Euro 2012 qualifying.

Slovakia had been unbeaten, un-scored upon through their first two qualifiers, coming-off a 0-1 win in Moscow over Russia. Against Armenia, the Slovak were unable to replicate that success, giving up an early goal to Yura Movsisyan. Vladimir Weiss’s equalizer was countered early in the second by Gevorg Ghazarian, a goal that wound-up being the match-winner.
Slovakia and Ireland are atop Group B with six points, with Armenia pulling to within two after today’s victory.
Ireland plays Russia in Dublin later today, the Russians having a chance to become the group’s third nation on six points.
