Zdravko Kuzmanovic appeared to right the struggling Serbs in the 60th minute, getting the favorites on the board with a 1-0 lead, but goals by Tarmo Kink (63’) and Konstantin Vassiljev (73’) quickly reversed Serbia’s lead.
Aleksandar’s Lukovic’s late penalty kick gave the Estonians a 1-3 win, send Serbia into crisis ahead of Tuesday’s match against Italy.
Petrovic had replaced Radomir Antic after Serbia were drawn by Slovenia, 1-1, in the second round of qualifying.
