Euro 2012 Qualifying: Bulgaria Holds-On In Wales, Bosnia And Herzegovina Drawn In Albania

Albania came back from an early deficit, sending their match with Bosnia and Herzegovina into halftime tied at one, a scoreline that held through the second 45 minutes, leaving Albania on top of Group D after the 1-1 draw.

Albania is even on points with Belarus, both nations winning one and drawing two, though Albania has scored two more goals. Bosnia and Herzegovina, coming off a loss to France, sit third with four points.

Fellow Group D nations France and Romania play in Paris tomorrow.

In Cardiff, Wales qualifying dreams were dealt a severe blow with Bulgaria, in Lothar Mattäus’s debut as coach, used an Ivan Popov goal to defeat their hosts, 0-1. The match, also the debut for Wales’ coach Brain Flynn, leaves the Welsh drawn with Switzerland, without points at the bottom of Group G.
