Hartman has been holding it down in goal, making at least three impressive saves during a first half that the Galaxy have basically controlled.
Ferreira, meanwhile, has made sure those efforts have not gone unrewarded. The MVP finalist has scored the game’s only goal, beating supposed Goalkeeper of the Year Donovan Ricketts on one of FC Dallas’ few scoring opportunities.
Galaxy coach Bruce Arena will have some tough choices at halftime, the most significant being what to do with Dema Kovalenko. The midfielder is already in the book with a yellow card and is lucky to still be playing after a particularly reckless foul on Ferreira.
FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman's early gamble has paid off, so far. Atiba Harris was given a rare start at forward, allowing Hyndman to bring veteran Jeff Cunningham off the bench in the second half.
