The goal was almost too easy, a momentary slip from a Wigan side that has been decent through the first 45. A throw-in from the right side came to Park Ji-Sung who, from 28 yards out, floated a ball to the far post. With no pressure on Park, the midfielder was able to give Patrice Evra a perfect ball, with the United left back running between defenders to knock-in a rare goal.
With Arsenal having lost and Chelsea trailing at Birmingham City, a victory today could see Manchester United even on points at the top of the league at day's end. With the second half having just started at Old Trafford, United now need to avoid the type of second half collapse that has plagued their season.
