MLS Expansion Draft: Timbers Go With Defense, Whitecaps Focus On Midfield

No. 17 (Timbers): Jordan Graye. A decent defender, who earned 20 starts as a 23-year-old. Kurt Morsink protected by DC United

No. 18 (Whitecaps): Jonathan Leathers. Has seen decreased playing team each of the past two seasons, dropping off from a career high 1,093 in 2008. Eric Kronberg protected by Sporting Kansas City

No. 19 (Timbers): Arturo Alvarez. The former Earthquake has proven to be a capable scorer, notching at least three goals in the past five seasons.

No. 20 (Whitecaps): John Thorrington. Saw a big decrease in playing time this season, but is a five-year MLS veteran who scored five goals in 2008.
