Big Five Outside The Big Five: Porto Looks To Continue Dominance

So far, Porto are pulling away from the pack in Portugal. They’re undefeated through 11 games and currently sit on 31 points, 10 clear of their nearest competitors. They’re close to effectively ending the title race only halfway through the season. Sporting Lisbon are having a much different year, currently sitting on 18 points in fifth place. A win over Porto could seriously jump start their campaign.

There are three huge matches in France this week, with Lyon facing PSG and league leaders Lille taking on Bordeaux, but this one is arguably the most intriguing.

For the first time in recent memory, the big three Istanbul sides are nowhere to be found in the Champions League spots in Turkey. Fenerbache have been respectable and are very much in the hunt, but Besiktas and especially Galatasaray have been wildly disappointing. Trabzonspor sit in first place, but up and coming sides Bursaspor and Kayserispor sit in second and third, both just two points back of first place.
