After being stifled throughout the first half, the fantastic Hernanes has struck again. Mauro Zarate scored the goal with a great finish, but it was Hernanes’ brilliant ball over the top that set up the goal. From the right side of midfield, the Brazilian playmaker hit a high through ball towards Zarate who was surging down the left side. Zarate took it down with a great first touch, beat the inexperienced right back Felice Natalino, and chipped the ball over Luca Castellazzi into the back of the net to put his team up 2-0 in the 52nd minute. It was a stunning counter attack that probably made Inter fans’ hearts sink after being the superior team for the previous 25 minutes of the match.

Rafael Benitez has reacted by bringing on 19 year old attacker Denis Alibec for midfielder Sully Muntari. This is only Alibec’s second appearance of the season. Inter’s formation looks like an attacking version of Rafa’s preferred 4-2-3-1. However, since the goal, Lazio have looked incredibly confident and have created even more opportunities with Zarate forcing Castellazzi into a save and Hernanes blasting a shot just barely over the crossbar at the end of a great move.
