↵↵Alaska Airlines teamed up with the Portland Timbers, MLS's newest expansion team, to reveal their new jerseys during a fashion show dubbed "Runway on the Runway". Cleverly enough, the show took place in a 64,000-square-foot hangar at Portland International Airport.

↵The primary jersey is two shades of green, and the secondary jersey is two tones of red to represent ‘The Rose City’, Portland’s nickname. Both have white sleeves, which were intended to “provide a modern twist to the split-jersey design.”

↵The primary jersey also pays homage to the team's passionate supporter's group, the Timbers Army, and further celebrates the team's unique history with an axe prominently featured on the back of the neck and a subtle, lower-back emboss of a rising sun.

↵The Portland Timbers were invited to join the MLS in March, 2009, as the league’s 18th franchise. They got their start as part of the North American Soccer League in 1975.
