Manchester City’s Roque Santa Cruz and Shaun Wright-Phillips both look set to be leaving Manchester City this month with a possibility that Emmanuel Adebayor may also he headed towards the exit door at Eastlands. If Mancini is to be believed, Edin Dzeko will be City’s only high profile signing which lends belief to the idea that the remainder of City’s transfer window activity may include a number of fringe players leaving.
Manchester City’s Roberto Mancini Confirms Fringe Players Can Leave
Wayne Bridge has already completed a loan move to West Ham for the remainder of the season while it seems Mr. Santa Cruz may be headed back to Blackburn Rovers - the club he made 70 appearances and scored 29 goals for from 2007-09. Both Santa Cruz and Wright-Phillips were brought in at City under Mark Hughes so it’s no surprise Fulham’s name has been linked with both players.
Just where Emmanuel Adebayor will land is not yet known. The Togo international has been linked to various clubs in Italy, including Juventus and AC Milan, but also clubs abroad in England. Mancini is currently waiting on news concerning injured forward Mario Balotelli and whether or not the young Italian will need a knee operation before he makes his mind up on Adebayor.
