Humberto Suazo might be limping around like he’s just waiting for a transfer to La Liga, but Sergio Santana is playing like a man with a point to prove. The Monterrey forward has pulled one goal back on Estudiantes Tecos, making the score 3-2 in favor of the hosts after 59 minutes.
Estudiantes Tecos Vs. Monterrey: Sergio Santana Gets A Brace, Makes It 3-2
The goal, once again, was a little bit more about the lack of quality in the Tecos defense than it was about the quality of Monterrey. Walter Ayovi and Aldo de Nigris had a hand in setting up the goal for Santana, who was left with a very easy right footed finish from 10 yards away.
It would actually be shocking to see Monterrey fail to walk away with a point here. Their performances against San Luis and Tecos so far in this tournament suggest that there’s no reason to believe that Monterrey should win this game, but it’s not like my claim is lacking in evidence. In fact, I will lay out my evidence.
1. It’s freaking Monterrey.
2. Tecos are still not that good.
Aldo de Nigris 88’, 3-3 Full Time. Calling it. Nostradamus up in here.
