The score is all level at one each at Eastlands but the real story for supporters and neutrals has been the debut of Edin Dzeko. In the opening half, Wolves made the most of their possession which dwindled somewhat as the half progressed. Impressing often in the opening 45, Wolves ability to make the most of when they had the ball produced their goal and kept City on the back foot. With good crosses into the box and well placed balls from inside the box, Wolves, on multiple occasions, nearly found their second.
Yet even with City's dominance in possession as the home side settled, they produced little more than a half chance from Adam Johnson and a long-range strike from Carlos Tevez before Kolo Toure finally opened up City's account five minutes before the half.
Carlos Tevez seems to be enjoying his freedom in attack - dropping back to find the space he enjoys as Edin Dzeko holds a tall line up front. At 6'4, Dzeko has won a number of long balls high up the pitch, has been the focal point in City's attack and has troubled Wolverhampton's central defenders with his strength and movement. But just as the Bosnian has been involved, he's yet to look altogether dangerous. As the second half commences, neither side has elected to make a change.
