West Brom Vs. Blackpool: Peter Odemwingie Bags A Brace, Baggies Lead Late

I said it deserved a winner, didn’t I? Peter Odemwingie might just have found it for West Bromwich Albion. In a game filled with great finishes and terrible defending, it was a great finish and terrible defending that led to WBA’s third goal. The Nigerian international has been spectacular all game, and his goal was no more than he deserved.

A lot of the blame for the goal has to fall on Blackpool defender Craig Cathcart, who completely lost track of Odemwingie and the ball. Odemwingie powered past him and hit a fantastic finish while lined up with the center of the goal, putting the ball past Kingson from the edge of the penalty area.

This has been one of those games where the announcers are talking about the absurdity of the fact that they actually get paid to do what they’re doing today. It’s been a stunning match where anyone should be happy if they paid good money to see it. But...what’s this? There are people leaving the stands early to beat the traffic? Sometimes, it’s understandable, but today? That makes me want to throw up.
