West Ham went to sleep for just a moment and Arsenal have opened the scoring at Upton Park in the contest's 13th minute. Controlling the flow of play, the midfield and looking the part of the stronger side, the Gunners found their way through the Hammers' back line rather easily and with little fuss.

Theo Walcott probed down the right flank and crossed into the box towards Samir Nasri who brilliantly dummied and allowed the ball to continue on towards the waiting Robin van Persie. When the whole of West Ham's defense bought Nasri's fake, van Persie easily struck past Robert Green from close range.
With news that current West Ham boss Avram Grant is set to leave the club after today's match with Arsenal, there were always going to be question marks surrounding the kind of performance he'd get out of his team. While it's still early going at Upton Park, West Ham already have a hole to climb out of and Mark Noble has had to leave the match with an injury being replaced by Luis Boa Morte.
