West Ham enjoyed a few decent chances in front of Wojciech Szczesny's goal but weren't able to find the break through before Arsenal netted a second. The Hammers best chance came from a Carlton Cole/Zavon Hines combination inside the box where Hines blasted across the face of goal and eventually out for a goal kick.

While Theo Walcott played provider for Arsenal's first, he then played finisher for their second in what was actually quite the brilliant finish. When Robin van Persie crossed into the box from the left side, it first appeared as if his pass would elude Walcott who was slightly deeper than van Persie's ball. The quick footed Walcott changed pace and side-stepped Wayne Bridge to meet the ball just in front of Robert Green's goal to strike home for Arsenal's second.
Now in the second half, question marks still surround the work rate of West Ham as Arsenal continue to maintain possession through superiority in midfield and look poised to score a third at any moment.
