Genoa Denies Reports That Domenico Criscito Will Be Sold To A.C. Milan

Just hours after Genoa president Enrico Preziosi denied that the club would be selling Domenico Criscito in the January transfer rumor, multiple reports in the Italian press suggested that A.C. Milan were set to buy the defender. Now once again Genoa are insisting that the rumors are rubbish, with Criscito set to stay in Genoa, at least until the summer. The Italy international began his career with Genoa before moving to Juventus, where he was relegated to the bench. He then returned to the Rossoblu, establishing himself in the starting XI and helping Genoa become one of the better defensive teams in Serie A this season.

Yet Milan, desperate to shore up their wobbly defense, are eager to replace Luca Antonini at left back. It's possible that persistence, or enough Euros, could still lure Criscito away from the Rossoblu. Failing that, the table-toppers are also in the hunt for Sampdoria defender Reto Ziegler, although Samp's owner says Ziegler will cost at least €4m.
