Athletic Bilbao Vs. Deportivo La Coruña: Juan Rodriguez Set Off At The Stroke Of Halftime, It’s Ten Against Ten

In the second minute of first half stoppage time, Deportivo La Coruña’s Juan Rodriguez has been sent off after picking up a second yellow card for unsportsmanlike conduct (15 yard penalty...) off the ball, getting himself sent off in one of the most stupid ways possible. His team will now be hard pressed to hang on to all three points at San Mames.

Between the Athletic Bilbao red card and halftime, Bilbao were actually the better side, putting together some of their best attacks of the half. Gaizka Toquero, Carlos Gurpegui, and Fernando Llorente all missed great chances. If they were the better side playing with 10 against 11, they should be favored to get an equalizer pretty early on in the second half unless Depor seriously flip the script.
